The AttaBoy 300 World Cup Sled Dog Race for Vision is an annual event in Central Oregon. "Top sled dog racers from around the world will come to Oregon to participate and compete in the eight-day race in January 2004. This statewide stage format race will kick off in Bend with the first stage of racing on Mt. Bachelor. The race will stage through the communities of Bend, Sisters, Prineville, Sunriver and La Pine with the final stage and finish of the race on Mt. Bachelor. The Atta Boy 300 Oregon International Stage Stop Race, Race for Vision, public awareness campaign will reach the entire state - and entire nation through a package of compelling outreach activities and informational messages."
"Jerry Scdoris, a champion musher and most important the father of Rachel Scdoris, is the founder of the Atta Boy 300, Oregon World Cup Race for Vision. Rachael Scdoris, Jerrys 19-year-old daughter was born with a vision disorder called congenital achromatopsia, a very rare vision disorder that causes both near and farsighted vision and color blindness. At 3 years of age, Rachael developed an interest in sled dogs and from her earliest recollections all she ever wanted to do was become a sled dog racer. Rachael has dedicated her life to her goals and made a major breakthrough by competing and finishing the Wyomings IPSSSDRA 500 mile race. Rachaels dedication and perseverance has become an inspiration for Race for Vision and visually impaired individuals worldwide."

Meet the Musher, Michael Salvisberg!
RE/MAX Sunset Realty announces the sponsorship of Michael Salvisberg by RE/MAX Offices of Central Oregon in the AttaBoy 300 World Cup Sled Dog Race for Vision on January 3-11, 2004.
Ranked fifth in the world by the IFSS (International Federation of Sleddog Sports), and third in his region, which includes Alaska, Yukon Territory and British Columbia, Michael Salvisberg is a super star in the world of sled dog racing.
Michael was first introduced to sled dog racing in 1989 in the Swiss Alps and made his first contact with "real" dogmushing in the Yukon Territory, Canada, the same year. By 1992, Michael started his journey in sled dog racing which brings him to Central Oregon for the second year in a row.
RE/MAX Offices of Central Oregon, including RE/MAX Sunset Realty, are sponsoring this incredible athlete, and bringing him back to Central Oregon once again to compete for the first place title--Michael finished fifth in last year's race. Michael will be driving over 3,500 miles from his home in Haines Junction, Yukon, to Central Oregon for the AttaBoy 300 World Cup Sled Dog Race starting at Mt. Bachelor on January 3. Michael will be joined by his handler Denis, and his nine year old son, Dylan, who is one of the top youth mushers. Dylan just qualified for the Artic Winter Game in Fort McMurray.
Michael, Dylan and Denis, along with a few of their fellow canines, will be visiting local elementary schools in Sunriver, Bend, Redmond and Sisters. AttaBoy 300 has a curriculum they use to educate elementary school children throughout the state.
