Tumalo Falls, located just west of Bend, is a wonderful place to sight see and hike. There are many hiking trails off the unmaintained dirt road, and Tumalo Falls sits at the end of the road. In the winter months, the road is closed to vehicles making it ideal for cross country skiing, snowshoeing or just going for a walk in the snow!

Below, we have answered some of the most common questions we get asked from our guests about RE/MAX Sunset Realty's vacation rental homes and condominiums:
When is check-in and check-out?
You are welcome to check-in anytime after 4 pm. Check-out is prior to 11 am. DURING PEAK SEASON, CHECK IN TIME MAY BE DELAYED PAST 4:00 P.M.
How do I get to Sunset Realty? And, where do I pick up the keys to my Sunriver vacation home?
Sunset Realty is the large log building located at the entrance to the Sunriver Business Park. The Business Park is located just past the main entrance to Sunriver after the round-a-bout. Follow S. Century through the round-a-bout. Make a left at the only traffic signal in Sunriver, and you're at our office. Keys need to be picked up and dropped off at our log office in the Business Park. What are the office hours?
Summer - 8am-7pm
Fall/Winter/Spring - 8am-6pm
What if we arrive after hours to check-in?
Please call our office at (800) 541-1756 to let us know you will be arriving after hours. We will make arrangements to get you your keys and off to your Sunriver vacation home.
What is Included in My Vacation Home?
All of our homes are fully furnished and supplied with linens, and a starter set of soap, paper products, and coffee filters. All of our homes and condos are equipped with cable television and FREE wireless (and standard) high-speed Internet access. The kitchens are completely equipped and ready for you. We recommend you bring any specialty cooking utensils you may need during your stay, and of course, coffee, food, spices and condiments.
Is housekeeping provided?
Your property has been professionally cleaned and prepared for your arrival by our housekeeping staff. No need to worry about cleaning your vacation rental upon your departure, since our housekeeping staff will be along shortly to clean and do the laundry. We do ask that you clean up any spills and leave the property in a condition similar to the way it was when you arrived. Cleaning is available during your stay for a nominal fee. Please contact our office for details.
What is the check out procedure?
Please return keys to Sunset Realty’s log office. We ask that you turn out lights, secure doors and windows, deposit trash to the outdoor receptacle. A check out procedure is provided in each home posted near the entry.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations will result in a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel your reservation within 14 days of your arrival (30 days for major holidays and peak seasons), your deposit will be forfeited. There is a $25 charge for any checks returned NSF.
Can We Have an Extra Guest Stay in the Home Overnight?
No, Deschutes County has an occupancy ordinance which must be followed. The occupany limit is posted on our home descriptions and in the home near the entry area. Visitors are allowed until 10pm. Over occupancy can result in fines from the police department for every single person staying in the home. The fine is roughly $100 per person.
What if I want to bring a pet?
RE/MAX Sunset Realty makes it really easy to travel with your pet. Sunset Realty has the largest selection of pet friendly accommodations in Sunriver, Oregon. We recognize that your pet is part of the family, and after all, they deserve a vacation also! We do require a NON-REFUNDABLE pet fee of $10 per night for one pet. How do the phones work?
Each home has a private telephone with its own number. The office is not connected to a switchboard. Any incoming call you wish to receive will need to call your home directly. Local calls are free including Bend, Redmond, and La Pine. Long distance calls must be billed to a calling card. Your calling card should have a toll free access number on the back. You will then be prompted by your calling card company for further instructions. We sell calling cards at our front desk for your convenience.
Do the homes have cable TV?
Basic cable is provided in every single rental home.
Where can we park our boat or RV?
Recreational vehicles and trailers may be parked in the owner storage area located between circles 3 and 4 across from the Fire Station. A limited amount of spaces are available (first come, first serve basis) for rent through the Sunriver Owners Association (SROA). Their office number is 593-2411. The Owners Association office hours are Mon-Fri 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. RV type vehicles are not permitted in private driveways unless it is the only form of transportation at the residence, and then only by permit. Permits are available from the SROA. If you are bringing a boat, you are allowed to park the boat in your rental home’s driveway if it is moved at least once within a 24 hour period. If you will not plan on using it every 24 hours, you must arrange to park it at the storage area.
What is there to do in Sunriver?
Sunriver is a destination resort situated on approx 3300 acres. The Deschutes River borders the West side of the resort for 5 miles. There are two championship 18 hole golf courses, 2 outdoor pools, 29 outdoor tennis courts, over 30 miles of paved bike/walking paths, a marina with canoe rentals and waterside dining, a nature center, observatory, riding stables, bird watching, play ground, ball field, ice skating rink (in season) and the Village Mall with shops and restaurants. Two grocery stores are located in Sunriver as well.
Can we roller blade or skateboard in Sunriver?
No, Sunriver does not allow roller blading. Or skateboarding on the paved bike/walking paths. There are designated skate parks located in both Bend and Redmond.
Where can we rent bikes, ski/snowboard or recreational equipment?
There are several rental shops in Sunriver that will rent a variety of bikes, ski and recreational equipment. Refer to our SUNSET PERKS partners for discounts. Some homes have bikes for guest use, however, we are not able to neither guarantee them nor maintain them.
How Far is it to Mt. Bachelor?
Mt. Bachelor is only 18 miles (about a 20 min. drive) from the Sunriver Resort area. Follow S. Century, then Spring River Road to the highway cut off towards Mt. Bachelor. Shuttle service is available for a nominal fee through the Sunriver Resort Lodge. Call 593-1000 for pick-up and drop off times.
