Day 1: POWDER RUNS
You’re never too old or too young to play in the snow!

Start the chilly Central Oregon morning off right with a warm latte or hot chocolate along with fresh baked pasteries, donuts and breads from Hot Lava Baking Company located in the Sunriver Village Mall. Their donuts are the largest you've ever seen! Delicious breads are baked daily and they have a delightful selection of homemade desserts and deli sandwiches. **Sunset Perks

Catch snowflakes on your tongue, bone up on the art of making snow angels, skate hand-in-hand at the Village Mall ice rink to familiar tunes, guzzle hot cocoa—or hot totties--by the fire while playing a game of cards…it’s winter in Sunriver and there are endless possibilities for winter fun outside or in!

DAY 3: TAKE A HIKE
These areas remain snow-free most of the winter, so they’re ideal activities when you’ve had it just about up to here with snow.

GPS Eco Challenges by Wanderlust Tours offer small or large groups an adventure on the sage and grass-covered land of the High Desert while you find your way from point to point through fun clues with your GPS (global positioning system) skills. Search through forest, rock outcrops, and cool caves – all under the backdrop of the mountain vistas.Your treasure awaits you at the end – a Wanderlust Tours gift for all! Pilot Butte Park in Bend offers a panoramic view from the top! You can walk up the trail or the paved road. This is a nice, quick walk to end or start your day and watch the sun set or rise.

Smith Rock State Park has easy-going trails to very difficult make-your-legs-wobbly and sore trails to explore on a cool winter day. The sun is usually shining at Smith Rock!

Fort Rock area is great for exploring. The huge circular rock formation is a must-see and you can’t forget to visit the Hole-in-the-Ground, which was often mistaken for a meteor crater. The Hole is 1 mile across and 425 feet deep!

DAY 4: FULL SPEED AHEAD
Warm up with some adrenaline-pumping activities!

First warm up your tummy with a hearty breakfast burrito and a latte from the Base Camp Grill, located on the way to Mt. Bachelor just a few minutes from Sunriver. They serve burgers and all the rest of the typical grill grub, along with an extensive selection of beer and wine. Try the Souvlaki with the traditional greek tzatziki sauce--a one of chef Andre's specialities. Grab your "survival pack" for your day on the snow--a specialty to-go boxed lunch. DAY 5: DOWN UNDER
No matter what the weather is like outside, a cave stays the same temperature—and dry—year-round. Try spelunking!

Skeleton, Boyd and Wind Caves are located east of Bend, off China Hat Road. They range from easy walking to more difficult. Sturdy shoes, warm clothing (40 degree temps) and lanterns are a must. Pick-up a map from the Forest Service office of Bend. Most of the roads to caves are not marked.

Not crazy about going into a cave on your own? Take a guided trip with Wanderlust Tours. They take you to the obscure caves, provide all equipment and a knowledgeable, fascinating guide and offer pick-up/drop-off service at select locations. Recommended for all age groups. **Sunset Perks
